Our Story
Opening in October of 1999, the history of the funeral home goes back further than one might expect. The funeral home's supervisor, J. Lowell Bergey, owned and operated Bergey Funeral Home of Harleysville since 1987. At the same time, Robert L. Williams, Jr. owned the Moyer-Williams Funeral Home in Souderton since 1985, where Kyle D. Koffel served as supervisor. While both funeral homes were used by the community for many years, with the rapid growth of the area, it soon became apparent that it would make sense to combine the firms together to construct a brand new facility. Unlike many funeral homes, this new facility was constructed to be totally handicapped accessible, with abundant parking and large seating capacities.
The beautifully landscaped exterior is surrounded by well-lit parking spaces for 100 cars. Visitors are welcomed into the open and airy foyer where there is plenty of room to congregate. The foyer leads to the large chapel with a large seating capacity. This room is used for funerals, memorial services, and viewings. Also off the foyer is an area where visitors may help themselves to coffee and a room where children can read books and watch movies.
To help families plan for the services of a loved one, or for themselves, we have a selection room where caskets are on display. This room also has a display of burial vaults, personalized memorial packages, and other related materials. For those who choose cremation, there is another selection room where urns and cremation caskets are on display. Unlike most funeral homes, the funeral home also has its own crematory on site.
