Obituary

William H. Hood, 82, a long-time resident of Schwenksville, PA, passed away late Friday night, December 19, 2025, at Morningside House in Towamencin, PA, with his wife by his side. He and his wife, Peggy J. (Landis) Fretz Hood, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 25th of this year.

Born June 13, 1943, in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late William Moore Hood and Anna E. (Hoffman) Hood. He attended Collegeville Trappe High School.

Mr. Hood was employed by Philadelphia Electric Company from 1967-1995, retiring as a gas foreman. He then worked as a mechanic for Dean's Harley-Davidson of Sellersville, PA, from 1995-2014.

A loyal Harley-Davidson fan, he enjoyed working on and rebuilding motorcycles in his shop at home. He was a member of the Reading Motorcycle Club, Lower Frederick Fire Company and Morwood Sportsmens Club.  He enjoyed collecting guns and was a member of the NRA. He also enjoyed traveling across the country with his wife and family in their RV.  The most memorable was a two-month trip to Alaska for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, William Earl Hood and his fiancée. Lisa Boyer, of Gilbertsville, PA, and Tami Dawn Sabo and her husband, Louis, of Bechtelsville, PA; a sister, Barbara Brighthaupt wife of the late Robert, of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Shannon Drury (Jason), Amber Hood, Allison Carl (Andrew), Skylar Sabo and Sage Sabo; and a great grandson due in March of 2026. He is also survived by three nephews, James, Richard, and Pastor Robert Lovett.

Services will be private for the family. A Celebration of Life is being planned for family and close friends with details to follow at a later date.  For those desiring, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice or to buildmoto.com. Build Moto is a non-profit, partnered with Harley-Davidson, that teaches tech skills to high school students through motorcycle building. Arrangements are by Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc. of Franconia Twp., PA.
