Warren Bucher Landis, 93, passed away Wednesday evening, October 16, 2024, at home on the family farm in Franconia Township, PA, where he was born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Lydia (Bolton) Landis, on January 1, 2022. They were married for 69 years at the time of her passing.
Born July 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Warren Moyer Landis and Rachel (Bucher) Landis. He grew up attending Franconia Mennonite Church. He married his future wife at Line Lexington Mennonite Church where he soon became a member. At church, he was active with the Boys Club, taught Sunday school, and served as an elder.
Mr. Landis was a meat cutter for most of his life and stayed active on their sheep farm until days before his passing. He enjoyed working with his hands, was very involved with 4-H alongside of his children and grandchildren, and volunteered at Care & Share Thrift Shoppes for over 22 years. He was happiest when riding his tractor and visiting with family on the farm.
Surviving is a son, Robert Landis and his wife, Cindy, of Ephrata, PA; three daughters, Joyce Leach and her husband, Wayne, of Royal Center, IN, Marilyn Miller and her husband, Fred, of Line Lexington, PA, and Irene "Renie" Landis of Franconia Township, PA; a daughter-in-law, Caroline Landis of Mohnton, PA; 19 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Janet Yocum of Towanda, PA, and Margaret Helmuth and her husband, Richard, of New Brunswick, Maine.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Arden Landis; and two sisters, Ruth Keeler and Esther Kemmerer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 2:30 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Line Lexington Mennonite Church, 80 Hilltown Pike, Line Lexington, PA, where family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm. A private graveside service will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Arrangements are by the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc. of Franconia Township, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Mennonite Disaster Service at
