Walter Moyer Godshall, age 94, of Telford, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Helen Mildred (LeFever) Godshall, with whom he shared over 73 years of marriage.
Born May 14, 1929, in Souderton, he was a son of the late Marvin Koffel and Hannah Moyer Godshall.
Walter was the former president of Godshall Quality Meats. He was a member of Calvary Church, Souderton, where he served on the church council and the mission board, as well as serving on the Haycock Camp ministry board. Walter and Helen loved taking the kids camping in their early years and traveled to many parts of the US. They even traveled with their mobile home across the country and up to Alaska for two months. They also traveled in their mobile home with other campers down to Mexico exploring Copper Canyon for one month of enjoyment with other campers across the country.
They enjoyed going to their mountain home over the years. And during the winter they were "Snow Birds" enjoying their home in Florida.
In addition to his wife Helen, Walter is survived by his children, Connie Kraynak and her husband, Dr. Joseph, Donna Hayden and her husband, Jerry, Mark Godshall and his wife, Kendall, and Brenda Haberle and her husband, Don; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and sisters, Grace Moyer, Alda Kratz and Thelma Bergey.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Godshall; grandchildren, James Santangelo Jr. and Miles Holden; and siblings, Betty Landis, Miriam Derstine, and Arvin and Clyde Godshall.
A memorial service for Walter will take place at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, where the family will greet guests from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
Interment will be private.
