Valerian "Val" C. Stefanowicz, Jr., 80, of Telford, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his residence.
Born January 11, 1943 in Shamokin, PA he was a son of the late Valerian "Walter" and Susan (Orzel-Orloski) Stefanowicz.
Val worked at Merck for 30 years; serving in roles as a manufacturing mechanic, carpenter and retired as a locksmith alongside his friend Clarence Schreffler.
A devoted member of Saint Marie Goretti church for over 50 years and a member of the last pew crew! Val loved his family. He spent vacations with his children in Florida and Long Beach Island, NJ.
He enjoyed traveling to Florida for the Phillies Spring Training, trips to Vegas with his Sister Angela and her husband Ronnie and his nieces and nephews. He was passionate about cooking, baking, and gardening; Val provided love and comfort with his food as a way to bring happiness and comfort to family and friends all year long. Especially known for his Polish meals at Christmas Eve and the cakes and pies that he made. We are going miss his big warm hugs, homemade pizza at the sledding parties, caring heart and his love and compassion he had for so many people in the community. He was loved and will be missed!
He is survived by his children, Michelle Ragghianti and her husband, Brian, of Downingtown, Steven Stefanowicz and his wife, Erica, of Spring City, Jason Stefanowicz and his wife, Amy, of Middlebury Center, and Luke Stefanowicz, of Souderton his siblings, Joann Appolonia, Angela Yost; his sister in law Marie Stefanowicz; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Vince Stefanowicz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass at 11 AM on Friday October 20, 2023 , at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Destine Rd. Hatfield, PA 19440, where friends may call for the viewing from 9-10:45 AM. Burial will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Shamokin, PA.
