Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Tatem, 91, of Lansdale, went to home to heaven.  He was the beloved husband of the late Doris Tatem with whom he shared over 67 years of faithful marriage.  Doris was truly the love of his life.

He was the son of the late Henry and Willow Tatem.

Tom graduated from Ferrum High School, Ferrum, VA, class of 1949.  He also earned his bachelor's degree in 1972 from LaSalle University, Philadelphia after 10 years of night school while working fulltime.

In the early 1950's he diligently served in the United States Air Force as a plane mechanic and helped planes take flight.

Tom worked as an electrical systems engineer and program manager for Philco Ford, Ford Aerospace and AEL.  After retiring from his career in communication, he worked for Clemens Market to be a consistent "speak life" gentleman to co-workers and shoppers.

Next to his Lord his family was her everything! He was a long-time member of Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, Lansdale.  Tom cherished the time he spent with his family and dear friends.  Loved playing games with his grandchildren and family.  In the early years, he helped with the Warminster Boys Baseball League, enjoyed watching his sons run cross country and going to concerts that his children were playing in.  He was very talented with repairs and loved working on cars.

The best moments in Tom's life were with his bride Doris, lovingly holding her hand through all the stages of life.  With a united faith, they courageously faced each moment together.  Second best was the joy of his family being together.  He valued people, as of the greatest treasure here on earth.  Always ready to give a kind word of encouragement.

Thomas was a loving, kind, hopeful, wise, consistent provider and encouraging husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  A man deeply devoted to prayer.

He is survived by his children, Dave Tatem and his wife, Patti, Ron Tatem and his wife, Donna, and Betsy Tatem; grandchildren, Kim Bailey and her husband Bryan, Matt Tatem, Todd Forquer and Jana Price and her husband Philip and four great-grandchildren, Jillian, Josie, Jazmyne and Judi.

Family will kindly receive friends from 10-10:45 AM on Friday, March 24, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 AM.  Burial will be private for the family at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
