Obituary

Thomas Lee Swanson, 69, a resident of Telford, PA since1977 passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after a long illness.  He and his wife, Nancy (Kulp) Swanson, would have celebrated their 48 th wedding anniversary on August 10 th of this year.

Born November 25, 1952, in Lansdale, PA, he was a son of the late Edward and Rena (Smith) Swanson.  A 1970 graduate of Souderton Area High School, he earned his bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg College and later earned a master's degree from the University of Central Michigan.

Mr. Swanson was a certified public accountant and worked as a United States Defense Department auditor retiring in 2010. Prior to working for DCAA, Tom was an auditor for Government Accountability Office.  He also ran his own tax business for over 20 years.

An active long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Telford, PA, Tom sang in the choir, was a member of Men's Group, and served on church council and the finance committee.  He loved his family deeply and was a very large part of the lives of his children and grandchildren.  Traveling with family and friends, golfing, and league bowling were among Tom's favorite activities.  He was a member of the Telford Industrial Development Authority.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by two daughters, Trisha Hoak, her husband, Robert, and their son, Brayden, of Gilbertsville, PA; Heather Mahoney, her husband, Kevin, and their children, McKenna, Finn, and Maura, of Media, PA; and two siblings, Michael Swanson and his wife, Sybil, of Richboro, PA, and Margaret (Peggy) Nase and her husband, James, of Telford, PA.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John (Jack) Hundley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11am on Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 107 West Lincoln Avenue, Telford, PA.  Family will greet friends during a luncheon at the church following the service.  Interment will be private at the church cemetery.  For those desiring, contributions may be made in his memory to Gift of Life Family House at www.giftoflifefamilyhouse.org .  Arrangements are by Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., of Franconia Township, PA.  Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.WilliamsBergeyKoffel.com .
