Obituary

Theodore V. DeMarino, 87, of Souderton, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Denise M. (Heim) DeMarino for 49 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Peter and Filomena DeMarino.  He was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School, Philadelphia, class of 1954.

Ted served 25 years in the Philadelphia Fire Department.  During this time, he was Battalion Chief, Captain of Fire Training Academy, established the research and planning unit, and was instrumental in the implementation of the CPR program.  Ted always enjoyed reminiscing about his days in the fire department.  After retiring from the fire department, he spent many years in the casino industry as Assistant Director of Fire and Safety and was Labor Relations Administrator at the Delaware River Port Authority.

Ted enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling and going to the beach.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Donna Lopez (David); son, Theodore DeMarino (Alba); four grandchildren, Joanna Johns (Brendan), Danielle Xuereb (Colin), Jacqueline Becerra (Felipe), and Michael DeMarino; and five great grandchildren, Ford, Brendan, Leo, Camila and Juliette.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Nicholas Hollingsworth and Nicole Johns; two brothers, Peter and Ronald; and a sister, Gloria Morgera.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, 18969, where the family will receive friends from 9:15 – 10:45 AM.  Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
