Shirley R. Wellington, age 81, of Green Lane, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late James B. Wellington with whom she shared over 51 years of marriage.
Born November 27, 1941, in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Norman Tyson and Helen Bertha (Greulich) Roth.
Shirley was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tylersport Volunteer Fire Company where she volunteered at ham dinners, chicken bar-b-ques, and penny auctions. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Souderton, PA where she was married. Shirley enjoyed making cookies and apple dumplings with her grandkids. She also enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends and family. In their later years, she and her husband James enjoyed Sunday breakfasts at their grandson's firehouse West Penn in New Ringgold, PA.
She is survived by her children, Rita M. Marks and her husband, Jason, of Barto, PA, and Gail Wellington of Green Lane; grandchildren, Thomas Wellington and his wife, Ruth, Jessica Landes-Kelly, and Jacquelynn Heller; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, Abigail, Johonnah, John, Tyler, Ambrose, Moira, Aurora and Stormy; step great grandchildren, Antonio and Dante; siblings, William Roth and his wife, Carol, of Hatfield, Anna LaViolla and husband, Joseph, of Harleysville, and Helen Roth of Hatfield.
