Shirley J. Lare, 96, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully from this earth and entered into the courts of heaven on Monday, January 20, 2025, where she was reunited with her beloved husband of 49 years, Carl "Pete" Lare, who preceded her in death.

Born in Rockledge to the late Harry and Stella Crawford, Shirley was a pillar of the Harleysville community. Together with Pete, she owned and operated the cherished Harley Kitchen restaurant, which became a local landmark known for its delicious food and renowned homemade strawberry pie.

She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lansdale for many years, and her service to others shone brightest in the kitchen at Camp Calvary, where she found great fulfillment in ministry.

Her passion for hospitality extended to her home, where she delighted in entertaining guests, decorating, and antiquing. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and showed particular love toward animals.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Larson (Glen); her three granddaughters, Tamara Nardo (Matthew), Tiffany Larson, and Tarryn DeNolf (Matthew); and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Larson, Elyse and Cora Nardo, and Camila DeNolf.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her 4 beloved siblings, Estella Hinkle, Dorothy King, Gloria Bork, and Thomas Crawford.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969, where a viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Camp Calvary .
