Shirley (Heffentrager) Derstine, 95, a long-time resident of Souderton, PA, passed away Wednesday morning, April 26, 2023. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Derstine who passed away March 16, 2016. They had been married for 67 years at the time of his passing.

Born August 23, 1927, in Telford, PA, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Sarah (Hedrick) Heffentrager. She was a 1945 graduate of Souderton High School and graduated from Grand View Nursing School in 1948. She worked as a registered nurse in her early years at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA.

Mrs. Derstine and her husband were the owners and operators of the former "The Deli Shop" and "The Deli Shop East" of Souderton, PA, for 31 years, retiring in 1998. She was a faithful long-time member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Telford, PA, where she was active with the Womens' Society. She also volunteered for many years at Souderton Mennonite Homes.

Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Senkow and her husband, Walter, of Sellersville, PA, Patrcia Gill and her husband, James, of Souderton, PA, and Cynthia Chernuka and her husband, Ronald, of Souderton, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson.

Family will receive friends from 12:30-1 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 101 South Main Street, Telford, PA 18969. The public memorial service will then begin at 1 pm at the church. Interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery of Telford, PA.
