Obituary

Sheri D. Freed, 52, of Perkiomenville, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.  She was the wife of Brent Freed and the late Chris Detweiler.

Born in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Nancy (Allebach) Barndt.

Sheri was a graduate of Souderton Area High School, class of 1988.  She received her bachelor's degree in education from Temple University in 1995 and her master's degree in education from Gratz College in 2009.

Sheri was a well-respected and talented teacher at Pennridge South Middle School. She lit up every room she entered with her bright personality and distinguishable laugh and smile. She started her mornings with a cup of coffee and a good book on the front porch with her loyal companion Josey. Music was a big part of Sheri's life whether it was singing, dancing, performing, or simply listening.  She enjoyed taking trips to Stacyville, Maine and her annual beach trip to Sea Isle, New Jersey.  She enjoyed spending her evenings winding down with her family and a glass of wine watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and the Phillies. Most of all Sheri loved being a mom to her resilient daughter Tahlia.

In addition to her husband Brent Freed, she is survived by her daughter Tahlia Detweiler of Perkiomenville, a brother Jim Barndt and his wife Pat, two sisters, Cindy Linse and her husband John and Connie Barndt and her husband Guy LaRue.  She was also survived by several nieces and nephews and beloved dog Josey.
