Sarah L. Delp, 86, of Souderton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Grand View Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rowan C. Delp, who died in 1997.
Sarah was born in Franconia, PA on August 28, 1936. She was the second of twelve children of the late Lizzie and Irwin Derstine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Irwin Derstine.
Sarah is survived by her sisters, Catherine, Eva, Mary, and Betty Ann; and brothers, Harold, John, Russell, Earl, Henry, and David; children, Charlene (Marlin), Carrie (Myron), Jay, and Katrina (Troy); grandchildren, Brent (Carly), Bethany, Chad (Ashley), Marsha (Jon), Neil (Amanda), Sara, Leah, and Drew; and great-grandchildren, Bella, Jacob, Braden, Edie and Louis. She loved her big family, and it brought her much happiness.
Sarah was a devoted wife, caring mother, and loving grandmother. She would lend a hand to anyone who needed assistance. She was happiest when she was singing and playing piano, learning to play piano by ear at an early age. She was an active and caring member of her church, Hopewell Christian Fellowship, and her strong faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Sarah resided on Harleysville Pike in Souderton, PA for over 45 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading the Bible, coloring, and playing games. Sarah was a loyal, hardworking employee at Landis Supermarket for many years. She attended Franconia School.
Her music and gentle nature brought joy to those around her. Sarah lived every day with gratitude, empathy, and kindness. May she rest in eternal peace in the presence of God whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Sunday, June 11, at 3:30pm at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford. The family will receive visitors from 2:00-3:15 pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 601 Hunsicker Road, Telford, PA 18969. Arrangements are by the Williams- Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home.
