Ruth Ardel Merrick Yothers, age 79, of Souderton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Floyd L. Yothers, with whom she shared over 58 years of marriage.

Born on September 20, 1944, in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Edith (Roeder) Merrick. She was a graduate of Souderton High School.

Ruth was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Souderton, PA. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she enjoyed watching Christmas shows. She loved decorating her house for the holiday, often times decorating before Halloween. She always wanted her house to be spotless and she frequently watched home improvement shows for inspiration. She took great pleasure in painting, and she had an avid interest in politics. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the front porch with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed with all our love and she will always and forever be in our hearts.

In addition to her husband Floyd, she is survived by her children; Floyd W. Yothers and wife Carolynn (Opdyke) of Perkasie, PA, Stacy Yothers and wife Michele DeFrenes of Telford, PA, Heather Gehman and husband Ken of Souderton, PA, April Nase and husband Ryan of Quakertown, PA, Preston Yothers and wife Jennifer (Harrison) of Souderton, PA. Grandchildren; Chase Gehman, Curran Gehman (Amber Figueroa), Courtney Gehman (Luis Zavala), Brittany Yothers, Brianna Yothers, Ryan Nase and Gavin Nase. Great grandchildren; Peyton Gehman, Carter Gehman, and Ariana Zavala. Siblings; Sandy Derstine and husband Clyde of Telford, PA, Frederick Merrick and wife Doris of Souderton, PA.

She was preceded in death by her sisters; MaryElla Derstine and Shirley Rosenberger, and best friend, Evie Wolf.

Services will be held on Friday, September 20th, to coincide with Ruth's 80th Heavenly Birthday. Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Franconia Twp., PA. The public memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm.
