Ruth S. Child, 92, of East Norrition, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the Peter Becker Community, Harleysville. She was the wife of the late Kenneth D. Child.

Born in Lancaster, Ruth was the daughter of the late Chester and Mabel (Brosey) Stauffer. She was a graduate of McCaskey High School, Lancaster, class of 1947.

Ruth was an avid reader, especially of mysteries. She had several dogs and cats over the years. She was especially devoted to her cats, who provided her with companionship in the years after her husband's passing. Ruth was a contributor to many animal welfare organizations such as the SPCA.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Child (Martha) of Telford and James Child (Nancy Jo) of Phoenixville; three grandchildren, Eric Child of Phoenixville, Andrea Wilkins of Newark, DE and Colin Child of Philadelphia; and two great-grandchildren, Marjorie and Vivenne Wilkins of Newark, DE.

Services for Ruth will be private with burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting.
