Obituary

Ronald Glenn Colyer, Sr., of Hatfield, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Colyer.

Born in Bellwood, PA, on October 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mabel Colyer.

A graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1954, Ron dedicated his career to various industries, working as a truck driver, vehicle delivery specialist, airplane mechanic, and manufacturing plant employee. His past employers included Moore's Hauling, Visteon, Interstate Fleet, and United Airlines.

Ron had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and bowling. He would take any chance he could get to travel to the family cabin in the mountains of PA. He was a skilled bowler and received a prestigious 299 ring from the American Bowling Congress, along with numerous other awards and patches recognizing his high scores. Ron was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles and Phillies. Ron was always quick with a joke or quick-witted comment… he was truly a genuine person. He could tell you directions to just about anywhere in the states, he knew every route and highway after 50+ years of driving.

Ron is survived by his loving children: Ronald Colyer Jr. (Sheila) of Vernon, WA; Lucinda Huhn (Scott) of Quakertown, PA; Jeffrey Colyer (Teresa) of Telford, PA; and Kent Colyer of Hatfield, PA. He was a proud PopPop to Abbie, Jessica, Alyssa, and Jeffrey, as well as Step-Grandfather to Holly, Tabitha, and Rachel.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Services for Ron will be private.
