Rodney H. Velarde, age 86, of Telford, passed away on July 25, 2024, at his residence, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Schlosser) Velarde.

Born March 31, 1938, he was a son of the late Huascar and Luisa Velarde.

Rodney was a United States Army Veteran. He was employed by NASA, working in the Aerospace Industry, working as a satellite Control Director. He built a "kit car", he was a licensed pilot and flew D-C planes as well as many other planes and flew on a flight simulator. He worked for the aerospace industry for more than 30 years with spy and defense satellites. He also volunteered at Grand View Hospital for over 16 years, and Lansdale Hospital for 6 years. He also worked as an interpreter for the Philadelphia and Allentown court systems. He is in Heaven, and we will meet again

Rodney is survived by his wife Sandra and his sister Nancy Velarde of Cochabamba, Bolivia. He is also survived by numerous cousins and extended family.

A memorial service for Rodney will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969. For those unable to attend the services, you can view the service by clicking here . Interment will be private.
