Robert Alexander Stook, 76, of Souderton, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Arlene (Sabatini) Stook to whom he was married for over 50 years.

Born October 2, 1945, in Plains, PA, he was of the son of the late Alexander and Mayetta (Senderovitz) Stook. Mr. Stook was a graduate of Plains High School and earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Kings College.

After college graduation, Robert went to work for Merck, Sharp and Dohme as a chemist.  He quickly became interested in the new computer technology and taught himself the fundamentals.  He built a small electronics lab in the basement and built two S100 bus computers in the 1970's.  He switched to the automation and control department of Merck and worked there as a systems analyst until retirement.

Robert enjoyed a very active lifestyle.  He was proud of the fact that he could still keep up with much younger men skiing, scuba diving, kayaking, and hiking.

Robert's upbeat, friendly personality won him friends everywhere he went.  He loved helping people and always had time to help friends and family with anything that he could.   His family was the most important thing in Robert's life, especially his son Chris.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher Stook of Souderton; and was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Pappas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, Pa 18969, where friends may greet the family from 10-11 AM.
