Robert Harold Smith, 79, of the Lutheran Community at Telford, Pennsylvania, formerly of Glenside, was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Wilson) Smith.
Born on April 17, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Harold Richard Smith and Rita Mae (Geraghty) Smith.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in South Korea. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1973. He spent most of his career as a mailman with the United States Postal Service, serving the Fort Washington Post Office.
He enjoyed hiking, deep-sea fishing, fantasy football, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, cooking (especially his signature Cheesesteak Stromboli), volunteering, reading and loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Bob had a tremendous love of his family. He was so proud of his children and the adults and parents that they have become. His love of his grandchildren was limitless.
He is survived by his son, Travis Smith (Amy) of Hatboro, PA, his daughters, Abbey Sarault (Russ) of Blue Bell, PA, and Cassie Boettlin (Tim) of Schwenksville, PA; seven grandchildren, Jake, Zack, Ford, Rex, Summer, Tyler, and Harper who all knew him as Pappy; and his brother, David Smith (Betsy) of Hatboro, PA.
Services for Robert will be private.
