Obituary

Robert J. Rupp, affectionately known as Hobs, 85, of Harleysville, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was the devoted husband of the late Gerri (Powell) Rupp, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage until her passing in 2014.

Born and raised in Simpson, PA, Bob was the son of Stanley and Helen (Danchak) Rupp and the brother of Jerome "Jake" Rupp. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and distinguished professional life.

Bob's career reflected both his work ethic and his gift for connecting with people. He first worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, before transitioning into sales, a profession he embraced for more than 40 years. He began at the Mack Miller Candle Company and ultimately spent nearly four decades with the company and people he truly loved most, The Uttermost Company.

Outside of work, Bob regularly embraced life's simple pleasures with great enthusiasm. He was a passionate golfer, happiest when walking the course with family and friends. He rarely missed happy hour, where a well-made Manhattan was his drink of choice. A devoted sports fan, Bob rooted for the New York Giants, the New York Mets, and Villanova hoops with unwavering loyalty. Each morning typically began with a cup of strong black coffee and the New York Post.

Bob was a lifelong dog lover, but none captured his heart quite like Monkey, the wild-child rescue white ball of fluff who held a special place in his life and brought him endless joy, literally up to his final minutes.

Above all, Bob was a family man, never missing a game or event, regardless of where he was traveling for work that day. He is survived by his daughter, Kendra Hogan (Pete), and their children, Kelly and Jackson; and his son, Brent, and his children, William, Charles, and Lila. He is also survived by extended family members and many friends who will remember him for his steady presence, sharp wit, loyalty, and deep love for those closest to him.

Bob's life was defined not by grand gestures, but by consistency—showing up, staying connected, working hard, loving deeply, and caring in ways that were both practical and heartfelt. He will be profoundly missed.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private at St. John Neumann Cemetery at a later date.
