Obituary

Robert W. Murray, Jr., 83, of Perkasie, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023.  He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann Murray, with whom he shared 62 beautiful years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Robert and Emily Murray.

Robert was a graduate of Dobbins Vocational Technical School.  He served honorably in the United States Army.  Robert had worked as a delivery driver for United Parcel Service for thirty years. Upon his retirement, Robert did not want just to sit around. Always wanting to help people, he would offer his time and handyman services to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed keeping active with mowing lawns and completing landscaping for numerous people, which he did up until a few years ago.  Always with a wonderful sense of humor, his quick witted one liners were present even up to his end. Upon meeting him, he would introduce himself as "Bob- spelled forward and backwards it is still Bob". Never one to complain when he was asked how he was his response was always- "I am outstanding, upstanding, understanding and if I was any better, I couldn't stand myself". He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sudoku and watching Western movies.  He liked watching sports, especially the Phillies and Eagles.  Robert loved spending time with his family and going to the Poconos.  Robert was blessed with a beautiful voice and although he was critical of it, anyone who heard him sing felt he should have been a professional singer. He sang with his church choir for many years and blessed many weddings with his voice.

He is survived by his daughters, Janice McConeghy, Wendy Burkhardt and her husband, Robert, and Vicki Herzberger and her husband, Peter Sr.; grandchildren, Daniel Burkhardt and his wife, Cassie, Corey McConeghy, Meghan Burkhardt, Robert Burkhardt, Kyle McConeghy and his wife, Kristi, Leighan Patricia, Peter Jr. and Kevin Herzberger; great grandchildren, John Roth, Aubrie Kelley  and Anthony McConeghy,; one great grandchild due in August; sisters, Betty Ann Dutill and her husband, Jay, and Barbara E. Hartranft. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frances Murray; and son-in-law Kenneth McConeghy.
