Robert S. Freed, age 99, of Telford, formerly of Souderton, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Leidy) Freed, with whom he shared over 64 years of marriage.

Born June 02, 1923, in Souderton, he was a son of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Shutt) Freed.

Robert was a Souderton High School graduate, class of 1941. After graduating, he served in the United States 8th Army Air Corps during World War II. Robert attended the Americans in Wartime Experience at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Pennsylvania, where he was interviewed about his wartime experience, you can watch the interview by clicking here . Robert was employed as a carpenter, working for former local contractors and then was the resident carpenter for the former North Penn Hospital for 18 years until his retirement. Robert was a member of the Souderton - Harleysville Fish and Game club, the Souderton American Legion Warren Royer Post 234 and served as an usher at Zwingli United Church of Christ.

Robert is survived by his children, Lori Smith and her husband, Michael, and Todd Freed and his wife, Jeanelle; and his sister, Jeanne Wolfe.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, where the family will greet guests from 1:00 – 1:45PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's name may be made to Generations of Indian Valley, 259 N. 2 ^nd Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
