Richard G. Moore, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the age of 85. Richard was the loving husband of the late Virginia E. Moore, who died September 24, 2021. They were married for 64 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Willard H. and Helen (Liddle) Moore. Richard graduated from Olney High School, Class of 1954, the year he enlisted in the Army Air Force, where he served for 8 years. In 1962 he was Honorably Discharged. He attended night school upon his return and became a machinist. He was employed with O. P. Schuman & Sons, for 31 years and retired in 1999.
Richard and Virginia were longtime members of Calvary Church, Souderton, where he was active in various activities such as Boy's Brigade, fast pitch baseball and helping with the youth group. Rich was an avid bowler and played in a men's league for many years. He and Virginia also enjoyed bowling in a Christian Couples League. Rich enjoyed fishing, hunting, target shooting, and camping. Rich and Virginia loved traveling and went on numerous adventures with both family and friends.
He always had a smile.
Rich loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by two children:
Richard Moore and wife Supatcha of Bangkok, Thailand,
Christine Sames and husband Richard, of Salfordville, PA,
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
Richard Sames and wife Danielle and their two children: Savannah and Cullen of Collegeville, Matthew Sames and wife Casey of Harleysville and Quinn Sames of Salfordville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Willard Moore.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 10-11AM at Calvary Church, 820 Rt. 113, Souderton. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Please enter at the steeple entrance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to Haycock Camping Ministries, 3100 School Road, Kintnersville, PA 18930.
