Obituary

Richard 'Dick' D. Kirsch, 89, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2026, at the Lutheran Community in Telford.

He was the loving husband of Joslyn (Yoder) Kirsch for over 67 years of marriage.  Born in Hatfield, he was the son of the late Nicholas L. and Mary (Derstein) Kirsch.

Dick graduated from Hatfield High School in 1955.  He proudly served in the US Army (1958-1960) at a missile base in CT.

He worked at Merck Sharp and Dohme prior to his becoming a well-respected freelance photo retoucher/artist for advertising agencies in both Philadelphia and New York. His job gave him much satisfaction.

Dick was both creative and curious and had many interests, memorabilia collections, and hobbies including astronomy, glass etching, a love of the western frontier, off road vehicles and his '32 Ford Street Rod.  He enjoyed the challenge of both building and fixing things.

Dick loved spending time with his family whenever possible, leaving them with many fun memories such as taking his daughters fishing and traveling to interesting places.  He enjoyed all people.

Until moving to the Lutheran Community, he was an active member of Calvary Church of Souderton where he served in various Outreach Ministries.  Previously an active member of Grace Bible Church, he particularly enjoyed working in the Boys' Brigade program for many years.  It was important to him to tell others about the love of God and to pray for needs.

Dick is survived by his wife, and two daughters Jody L. Blanar (and her husband, Keith) and Holly A. Post (and her husband, Doug), all of whom he treasured deeply.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The burial will take place at Calvary Church in Souderton.
