Obituary

Ray L. Johnson, 75 of Harleysville, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Peter Becker Community. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Hager) Johnson.

Born August 20, 1949, in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Reese L. Johnson, Jr. and Margaret (Kallensee) Johnson.  Ray was a graduate of Souderton High School class of 1967 and served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Ray was employed at Landis Supermarket for 28 years as a meat cutter and deli/bakery manager. For the next 12 years, he was a salesman at Hatfield Meats. Following his time at Hatfield, Ray joined Kunzler where he would spend the next 13 years as a salesman and eventually retire in 2016.

Ray loved hunting and fishing and many camping trips with family and friends. One of his many hobbies was antiquing, along with road trips in his Corvette with friends.  He enjoyed spending countless hours working outside on the pond he designed.

Ray's pride and joy were his 4 grandchildren. He enjoyed 4-wheeling with the boys and watching the girls play volleyball. He enjoyed all the sleepovers and all the hugs they shared.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Tara Kuhnsman and her husband, Chris, of Souderton, and Shannon McLaughlin and her husband, Stephen, of Downingtown, and his four grandchildren, Brandon, Bryan, Maggie, and Emily.  His siblings, Reese L. Johnson, III, Carole Veit, Robert Johnson and wife Jeanette, and Karen Barndt and husband David.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Zwingli U.C.C. Church 350 Wile Ave, Souderton, PA 18964, where the family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 AM. The family encourages friends to dress casual for the service as Ray was a shorts and jeans type of guy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Tunnels to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.WilliamsBergeyKoffel.com
