Obituary

Paula M. Slemmer, 79, of Harleysville, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Slemmer.

Born in Doylestown, Paula was the daughter of the late Paul and Kathryne Albert. She was a graduate of Central Bucks High School, Class of 1964, and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Art from Kutztown University in 1968. She also earned a Master's degree in Art Education from Cabrini College in 1999.

Paula devoted her career to education, working as an art teacher for the Colonial School District from 1968 to 1975 and later for the Souderton Area School District from 1983 until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of the Norristown Art League for many years, and was an avid watercolorist, with some of her work being shown at the Indian Valley Public Library in Telford. After retirement, she taught adult art classes at Generations in Souderton.

She was a very loyal fan of Eagles and Phillies for over seventy years, and the Eagles' Superbowl wins in 2018 and 2025 represented the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. In recent years, she particularly enjoyed watching her husband play senior-league outdoor softball, and hand-painting greeting cards for her many friends and family.

In addition to her husband, Paula is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Slemmer, and her husband, Chris; her son, Christopher Slemmer, and his wife, Melissa; her grandson, Bruno Slemmer; two brothers, Robert Albert and Edward Albert; and her sister, Candace Albert.

A Celebration of Paula's Life will be held from 10:30 - 11:30 AM, on Saturday, July 11, at the Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave., Harleysville, PA 19438, where the family will greet friends from 9:30-10:30 AM.  A luncheon will be held immediately following the service.
