Norman Glen Yoder, 80, of Souderton, formerly of Harleysville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 25, 2025, at his residence at Souderton Mennonite Homes.
He was the devoted husband of Alta (Stauffer) Yoder, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, PA, Glen was the son of the late Norman G. Yoder and the late Stella (Detweiler) Yoder.
A 1963 graduate of Pennridge High School, Glen served in the 1-W service from 1965 to 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. He was a longtime member of Souderton Mennonite Church.
Glen worked as a barber both from his home and at the Souderton Mennonite Homes community. His other places of employment included Hatfield Quality Meats, Clemens Markets (Bakery and Cart Return), and Giant Markets. After retirement, he continued to serve others through volunteer work, including the Emergency Room at Grand View Hospital, Darning Egg Gifts (MCC), and Celebrate Recovery at Franconia Mennonite Church.
Glen loved the outdoors—especially hunting and hiking—and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Alta, he is survived by two sons: Christopher G. Yoder of Lebanon, PA, and M. Chad Yoder and his wife Julie of Harleysville, PA; four cherished grandchildren: Grant, Blake, Kate, and Adalyn; a sister, Naomi Clemens of Branson, MO; and a brother, David Yoder and his wife Cathy of Harleysville, PA.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Gehman, and his brother, Paul Yoder.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, August 3, at the Summit View Auditorium at Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit Street, Souderton, PA 18964, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM.
