Nancy L. Allebach, 87, of Lower Salford Twp., died on Thursday, July 28, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Earl H. Allebach for 53 years.
Born 1934, in Perkasie PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Katherine Leatherman. Nancy was a graduate of South Perkasie High School, and Juniata College, class of 1958. She taught elementary education for most of her career and was the owner of Tender Sprouts Nursery School in Souderton.
Nancy was a lifelong world traveler. She started traveling abroad in the 50s, visiting Mexico and Europe and picked it up again in the mid 80s after her children were grown. She loved European history, art, architecture, and dining.
Nancy was an artist, and it embodied everything she did. She enjoyed drawing, painting, and crafts, and passionately taught the arts to her children, grandchildren, and students. She was also a singer and musician. She shared a passion for classical music with her husband who was a music teacher.
She enjoyed going to art and craft shows, concerts, theater, as well as studying and collecting art. She had a unique ability to see art in everything around her.
In addition to the arts, Nancy loved to cook, garden, read, knit, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her four sons, David Allebach & wife, Ruth of Souderton, PA, Jamie Allebach & wife, Tammy of Harleysville, PA, Jon Allebach of Bellmawr, NJ, Ward Allebach & wife, Lisa Steagall of Bradford Woods, PA. She had six grandchildren, Nathan, Tessa, Ashlyn, Robin, Jacob, and Devon, one great-granddaughter, Arwen. Nancy is also survived by her siblings, Arlene McCurley, Linda Leatherman, and Scott Leatherman.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Leatherman.
Services for Nancy will be private.
