Miriam G. Filson, 98 years old, left this world on Monday, May 15, 2023. She was a resident at Souderton Mennonite Home, we want to thank them for the excellent care she received while there with a special thank you to her wonderful aide, Roz. Miriam was the wife of the late Richard Filson and the late Russell W. Moore.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Barbara Ziegler. She was a graduate of Langhorne Middletown High School, class of 1943.
Miriam was a maintenance administrator at Verizon, a job she thoroughly enjoyed for 39 years, and enjoyed the people she worked with.
She enjoyed a full and meaningful life, growing up in Langhorne, raising two sons; in the other places she resided, she was always involved in various activities, especially those involving church; she was very social, always had a smile on her face, which was noticed and enjoyed by everyone she came in contact with. In later years, upon moving to Whitehall, PA, she was a member of St. Elizabeth Golden Agers, where she served as membership secretary for 15 years, Judge of Elections in Whitehall for 6 years, a member of Whitehall-Coplay Seniors serving as membership secretary for 6 years and was a 26-year member of Fullerton American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son Allan W. Moore and his wife Jacqueline of Sellersville, two nieces Linda Petersen and Cindy Bregenzer both of Georgia and a nephew Ron Ziegler of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by a son Gerald K. Moore and a brother John "Jack" Ziegler.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047.
