Michael Joseph Adams, age 75, of Harleysville, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, in his home. He was the beloved husband of Ingrid Anne (Dietrichs) Adams, with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage.
Born October 25, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, Mike was the eldest son of the late William Joseph and Delores (George) Adams. In 1974 he graduated with a chemical engineering degree from the University of Akron and shortly thereafter commenced his career in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. With his warm personality and sharp intelligence, Mike quickly moved into management, where he thrived. Passion and integrity marked his career, and he inspired many along the way until his retirement in 2007. When Mike was not engaged at work, he found great enjoyment in playing bass guitar in the live band scene or, later in life, in church worship services. Not only did he use his musical abilities to serve God, he used his leadership skills to serve as a church elder and Sunday School teacher. Mike appreciated many things in life, including good music and food, but it was abundantly clear that he took the greatest pleasure in spending time with family.
In addition to his wife Ingrid, he is survived by his children Elizabeth McNeely and her husband Joshua, Joshua Adams and his wife Helen, Benjamin Adams and his wife Cassady, Matthew Adams and his wife Laura; grandchildren Anna, Katelyn and William McNeely; Ezra and Olivia Adams; Hailey, Chloe and Evelyn Adams; brothers Patrick Adams and his wife Karen, Dennis Adams and his wife Tanya and Chris Adams.
A memorial service for Michael will take place at 2:00 PM on Sunday August 30, 2026, at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 West Chestnut Street, Souderton, PA 18964. Visitation will begin at 1:00, and a luncheon will follow the service.
