Obituary

Mark John Lengel, age 61, of Hatfield, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1964, in Limestone, Maine and was the son of the late Ralph Lengel and late Theresa (Albert) Lauchman.

Mark is survived by his children Mark D. Lengel and his wife Jessica, Chelsea K. Lengel, Nicholas P. Lengel and his wife Adara, Stephen G. Lengel, and Michael N. Lengel; grandchildren Connor, Brielle, Yomaira, and Zeppelin; siblings Kelly Parsels, Angela Hadley, Adam Lengel, Jim and Greg Karcher; stepmother Lorie Lengel, and former spouse Diana Lengel. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive Mark.

Mark graduated in 1982 from Souderton Area High School. In 1989 he started his career at Roy Lomas Carpets. He installed carpet for many years and then transitioned to sales more recently. Additionally, he enjoyed playing on the Lomas softball team in his younger years.

Mark was an easygoing guy who was most comfortable on Sunday afternoons, sitting in his lounge chair, watching his beloved Eagles play. More recently, he enjoyed having his grandson Connor join him in cheering on the Eagles.

Mark was an accomplished guitar player, having received his first guitar at age seven. He had the ability to be able to play by ear, never needing sheet music. He passed this talent onto all four of his sons.

Above all, Mark was most proud of being a father. He coached the boys in baseball and football and took his daughter to ballet lessons and horseback riding lessons. The joy of his life were his four grandchildren, whom he saw frequently and loved to babysit.
