Marianne Helen Peters, age 74, of Lansdale, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Robert William Peters, with
whom she shared over 53 years of marriage.
Born June 3, 1950, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Gerard John, Sr. and Helen Anne (Gowen) Schneider.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her children Jennifer A. Gayo and her husband Steven of Downingtown PA, Michael A. Peters and his wife Anita of Lansdale PA, Matthew R. Peters, Sr. of Chandler AZ, Regina M. McCloskey and her husband Kevin of Pennsburg PA, James D. Peters and his wife Lauren of Chalfont PA; grandchildren Abigail and Hannah Gayo, Christopher and Megan Peters, Matthew, Jr. and Marcus Peters, Brianna and Nolan McCloskey, and Juliette and Amelia Peters; siblings Elaine A. Allison and her husband Francis of New Britain PA, Michelle M. Schwartz of Oreland PA, Gregory G. Schneider and his wife Ellen of Reading PA, Robert S. Schneider and his wife Patricia of Chalfont PA, and Gerard J. Schneider, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Oreland PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Marianne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As a homemaker, she took great pride in raising her children and caring for those closest to her. As a devoted Catholic, Marianne spent her time volunteering in many liturgical groups. She was greatly known for her banners that decorated St. David's Church in Willow Grove where she also taught in the parish religious education program. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated on the Parish Council at St. Stanislaus in Lansdale. Marianne had a love for music and was a member of several church choirs and sang with the Songsters at Brittany Pointe. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Marianne; she enjoyed hosting holiday parties and picnics, making arts and crafts with her grandchildren, and playing games with friends. Marianne enjoyed many wonderful trips which included Hawaii, Alaska, Grand Canyons, Yellowstone National Park, and her favorite spot, the Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg,
TN. Marianne will be deeply missed by her entire family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road,
Hatfield, PA 19440, where the family will greet guests from 9:30 – 10:15 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marianne's name may be made to either St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church at the address above or
ACTS Signature Hospice, 420 Delaware Drive, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
