Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marguerite J. (Mertus) Nyce, age 97, on May 4, 2026, at her home in Telford, Pennsylvania. She was the devoted wife of the late Glenn P. Nyce, who passed away on August 25, 2004.

Born in Hellertown on November 15, 1928, Marguerite was the daughter of Louis and Catherine (Szaradics) Mertus. She graduated from Hellertown High School and Bethlehem Business College and proudly served as a member of the Civil Air Patrol during World War II, where she dreamed of one day becoming a pilot.

Marguerite began her career working for Fritch Oil and Bethlehem Steel and later dedicated more than 20 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service before retiring. She was known for her deep love of family, friends, animals, and her church, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Andrew Nyce, Donna Smith, Jan Nyce, Barbara Nyce, Patricia Nyce, Christopher Nyce, Rick Nyce, and Therese Page. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made towards the purchase of a park bench and plaque at Franconia Community Park, Franconia, PA, in honor of Glenn and Marguerite Nyce. https://www.gofundme.com/f/memorial-bench-for-glenn-and-marguerite-nyce
