Margaret A. (Yocum) Yoder, age 97, of Souderton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Lutheran Community in Telford. She was the wife of the late Henry H. Yoder.

Born February 21, 1927, in Souderton, PA, Margaret was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Souder) Yocum. She graduated from Souderton High School in 1943, and Taylor School of Business in Philadelphia, excelling in secretarial skills.  She enjoyed her work for lawyers, accountants, and insurance companies over the years.  In addition to raising her family, independence and working outside the home was important to her.  Margaret was a lifelong member of Zwingli UCC Church in Souderton, PA.

In 1948, Margaret married Henry Yoder and began family life, raising four children. Her love and devotion to family were the mainstays of her life. Having endless energy and thankful for her own good health, she was always at the forefront in times of need, celebration, or just getting family together for good food and fun. She poured her love into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of her life.

Over her lifetime, Margaret enjoyed many interests.  She loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, refinishing furniture, playing cards and games with friends and grandkids, traveling, and reading.  A big part of her life was summers spent at Camp Oaks, swimming and enjoying life along the Unami Creek with lifelong friends.

Margaret's legacy is her love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her character was that of a lady, always showing hospitality, generosity, a thankful heart, and a warm, welcoming smile.

She is survived by her children, Jane Yoder Saurman and her husband, Richard, of Souderton, PA, Robert Yoder and his wife, Bonnie, of Spring Mount, PA, Thomas Yoder and his wife, Betsy, of Knoxville, TN; daughter-in-law Deborah Yoder, of Milton, DE;  eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Scott Yoder, and her siblings, Kathryn Ziegler and Harold Yocum.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret's memorial service at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Zwingli U.C.C. Church, 350 Wile Ave, Souderton, PA 18964. Visitation with the family begins at 2:00 PM. The interment will be private.
