Obituary

Lydia A. (Haas) Yamarick, age 97 of Blue Bell, PA died Monday morning November 27, 2023 at Normandy Farms Estates. She was the beloved wife of Myles Yamarick, for 69 years. Born in Irvington, NJ, she lived in Union, Mountainside and Toms River, NJ. In 1997,
Lydia and her husband moved to Normandy Farms Estates, Blue Bell, PA where they called home for 26 years.

She attended Union High in NJ and soon after became a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell. She was promoted to supervisor, where
she became friends with another operator who introduced Lydia to her nephew, a very handsome Naval Aviator, named Myles Yamarick.
They fell in love and got married on Valentine's Day in 1948. Lydia would say that her life began when she married Myles.

On various occasions, she was called upon to be a fashion model for Lord & Taylor which perhaps started her love for clothes. She was always impeccably dressed up until the day she died. She served as a Tour Escort for a senior travel agency. At Bell Laboratories she helped run the inner workings of the banquets held for upper management, engineers, and scientists. However, she was most proud of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very handy and creative. Many things she would buy she would re-do, re- paint, or re-design to fit her needs. During the summer, she would set up activities and crafts for the neighborhood kids. She was an exceptional cook and baker. For holidays and neighborhood parties she would put out a spread for all to enjoy.

Lydia loved planting and maintaining her garden, it was always filled with colorful flowers and was quite the attraction in her community.
Lydia and her husband went on numerous cruises and trips which included Alaska, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and Italy. She
documented every trip and ended up with over 50 photo albums.

During her 26 years at Normandy Farm Estates, she joined and actively participated in various functions and committees in support of her community.

She is survived by two children: David Yamarick and wife Barbara of Honey Brook, PA, Vern Jasman and husband Michael of Kendall Park,
NJ, and granddaughter Loren Jasman of Mount Royal, NJ
