Lowell L. Moyer, age 86, of Goodville (East Earl), PA, passed away at the skilled nursing facility at Zerbe Retirement Community in Navron, PA, on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
He was born September 6, 1939, in Franconia Township, the youngest son of Raymond F. and Susan (Landes) Moyer. He attended Franconia Elementary School to the eighth grade and then worked on the family farm. He married Elaine Ruth Moyer on June 10, 1961, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He learned the carpenter trade, working for builder Jonas C. Hagey, Musselman's Kitchen and Bath in Telford, and Hangey and Moyer Millwork in Telford before becoming a self-employed cabinetmaker.
In 2001, he and his wife moved to Ore Bed Road in Mansfield, Pennsylvania on top of Bud's Mountain. They spent twenty-three wonderful years there before moving to an apartment at their daughter and son-in-law's place in Goodville in November of 2024.
He was a longtime member of Line Lexington Mennonite Church. While attending there, he served on the building committee for the new church built in 1973, served as trustee, and Boy's Club Leader. While living in Mansfield, he attended First Baptist in Wellsboro Pennsylvania.
He was a former member of the Quakertown Model Railroad Club and later joined the Wellsboro Model Railroad Club. He enjoyed working on his train lay-out in his "train room." He also enjoyed baseball, working outdoors, splitting wood for the wood stove, and driving his John Deere tractor.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, daughters Cynthia Moyer-Neel (Michael Neel), Janelle Ferrence (Todd Ferrence), and Trisha Snyder (Robert Snyder); grandchildren Brandon, Kalei, and step-grandson John Neel (Cynthia Focht); Rachel, Lara, and Micah Ferrence, Benaiah, Sarah, Nathaniel, and Zachary Snyder; his brother Arden Moyer and sisters-in-law Eleanor Chang and Lorraine Allebach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws Erwin and Mabel Ruth, sisters-in-law Sonja Moyer and Marilyn Ruth; and brothers-in-law James Ruth, Darwin Allebach and Wesley Chang.
A memorial service for Lowell will take place at 11:00 Am on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Line Lexington Mennonite Church, 80 Hilltown Pike, Line Lexington, PA 18932, where the family will greet guests from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment will be private.
