Born July 17, 1925, in Souderton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Henry N. and Irene (Swartley) Landes. She attended Telford Elementary School and completed ninth grade at Souderton High School. Together Lois and Donald enjoyed family vacations at Lake Wallenpaupack and Ocean City, NJ. They also enjoyed their many trips to Lancaster and Siesta Key, FL. Lois enjoyed reading, gardening, needlepoint, crocheting prayer shawls and of course preparing delicious meals for family gatherings in her home. Her specialties were her famous potato pie, marble cake, blueberry buckle and cornstarch pudding. Lois and Donald supported their children in all family activities near and far.
Lois and Donald enjoyed the many activities with their friends at Souderton Mennonite Homes. Lois navigated many adjustments in the last few years at Living Branches. Her family supported her through her declining eyesight and memory issues.
