Leo Saverio, 96, of Telford, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Saverio, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Lansdale, Leo was the son of the late Hector and Virginia DiSaverio. He graduated from Lansdale High School in 1948. Following high school, Leo was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and played professional baseball for six years before joining the New York Yankees. After his baseball career, he worked as a draftsman and engineer for several manufacturing companies.

He was the founder of the Lansdale American Legion Baseball Club, where he shared his love for the game with generations of young athletes. Leo was elected into the North Penn High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his children: Lee Saverio (Beth), Christine Foedisch (George), and Mark Saverio; his grandchildren: Sean, Brett, Casey, Carly, Megan, and Samantha; and eight great-grandchildren: Kyle, Lucas, Jacob, Josiphine, Jarrett, Kendall, and Delaney Lee.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 13, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, North Wales.
