Obituary

Lawrence Roy Hardwick, 93, of Hatfield, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 5, 2025. A longtime resident of Souderton, he was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Derstine) Hardwick, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Born on October 6, 1931, in New London, Connecticut, he grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Roy was the son of the late Lemuel and Elaine LePelley Hardwick.

Roy proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on three ships as an engineman and later built a successful career as a self-employed builder of custom homes.

A dedicated member of Calvary Church in Souderton, Roy was deeply committed to his faith and enjoyed spending many years with his wife and kids fishing and boating at the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. He was a "jack of all trades" and was always ready to help any one of his kids or grandkids with just about anything. In his later years, he enjoyed listening to piano music and spending time with family.

He is survived by his children, Wenda Overby (Kenneth), Vicki Pelletier (Dennis), Bradley Hardwick (Fawn), and Mindi Hardwick, along with thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 9, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969, where a viewing will be held from 10-11 AM.  A private interment will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories.
