Obituary

Laverne H. Musselman, 83, of Schwenksville, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was the husband of the late Elsie Jean Musselman.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late John and Laura Musselman.

Laverne had worked at Moyer and Son, French's Mustard and Bergey's Wholesale Warehouse.

He enjoyed genealogy and history and with his amazing memory he was able to share many stories about our family loved ones who have passed on. These stories and memories have blessed us all and will be passed down through the generations. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and he prayed for them often. He loved baseball and enjoyed watching the Phillies with his sons. After his wife's passing a year ago, he was thankful to have his only daughter by his side filling the void of missing his beloved wife. He suffered with bad health for many years. He fought hard and never complained. He was such a kind sweet man and loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Cathy Derstine, wife of Steven of Harleysville, Noah Musselman, husband of JoAnne of Telford, Joe Musselman, husband of Christine of Schwenksville, and Doug Musselman, husband of Liz of Harleysville; eight grandchildren, Jamie Kolb, wife of Brett, Brendon Derstine, husband of Heidi, Breanna Mullet, wife of McKenzie, Jenessa Gerber, wife of Corey, Ryan Musselman, Chloe Musselman, Crystal Kerns, wife of Dan, and Cassidy Zimmer; nine great-grandchildren, Mya, Rynlee, Ava, Alena, Teo, Parker, Reece, Adelyn, and Grady.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ella Mae Derstine; two brothers, Robert and Harold and a sister Arlene.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Tuesday, June 25, at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969, where a viewing will be held from 10-11:15 AM. Interment will take place at Salford Mennonite Church Cemetery.
