It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Kathryn, also known as Kitty Betty (Hilles) Doughty, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Peter Becker Community in Harleysville. She was 86 years old.
Born in Skippack, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Russell and Ethel (Reiff) Hilles. She graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School in 1956 and earned her degree from Moravian College in 1960.
Throughout her life, Kathryn was employed by Jetzon Tire Company and Acts Retirement-Life Communities. She also worked as a hostess at the former Trolley Stop in Skippack. Kitty was a generous volunteer with Indian Creek Church of the Brethren in Harleysville, the Lansdale Jaycees, many Red Cross blood drives, and the Peter Becker Thrift Store.
Kitty had a vibrant life filled with hobbies and passions. She enjoyed playing tennis and cards, belonging to a Ladies card club for many years. She also loved sewing and making clothes for her children, traveling with friends, and singing in various choirs. Kitty deeply adored her grandchildren, attending every concert, sporting event, and activity. She created many cherished memories with them, and they will always remember the special moments they shared with their "MomMom" Later in life she created memories with Chris and Sharon's neighborhood children who fondly called her MomMom.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Chris Streano (John), Sharon Secchiari (Chris), Bill Doughty (Sara), and Patti Cramer. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Colin, Victoria, Trent, Nicole, Dylan, Russell, Nikolas, Devin, and Isabella. She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Kashey, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her precious youngest sister, Pamela LaSpina of NJ.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 12, at the Peter Becker Community Chapel, located at 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438. Her burial will follow in Harley Burial Grounds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
