John William House, a longtime resident of Telford, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Born January 31, 1941, in Ambler, PA, John was the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Craig) Buzby. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. John shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara (Moore) House. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 7, 2026—a remarkable milestone that reflected a lifetime of love, devotion, partnership, and family.
John worked for many years at the R. T. French Company in Souderton, PA. Later, he and Barbara embarked on a new chapter together, founding and operating their own business, Valley Fresh Vending, until their retirement. Through his work and his many endeavors, John was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, John found great joy in hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a member of the Clover Archery Club and Boulder Valley Gun Club and was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. His love of the outdoors was matched by his passion for archery and karate. John and his family practiced together and traveled near and far to participate in competitions, creating countless memories along the way.
Above all, John cherished his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara, and his children and grandchildren, who were such an important part of his life.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, John is survived by his daughter, Barbie House and her partner Dr. Mark Wintersteen both of Gilbertsville, PA; his son, John William House Jr. and his partner Melissa Creciun, both of Lansdale, PA; and his three grandchildren, Morgin, Austin, and Brielle. He is also survived by his sister, Bettilou.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles, and his sister, Ruthanne.
John leaves behind a legacy of love for his family, devotion to his wife, pride in his country, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors and the many adventures shared with those he loved. His memory will live on in the stories, traditions, and cherished moments he created with his family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc. 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA. A public funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org, or to a charity of the donor's choice. John will be remembered, deeply missed, and forever loved.
With love, Family
