Obituary

Joanne Hendricks, age 82, of Telford, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Hendricks, with whom she shared over 59 years of marriage.

She was born in Sellersville, the daughter of the late Willard M and Anna A. (Dugard) Berthold.

Joanne was quite an amazing person. She was a graduate of Souderton High School and later worked for Merck, Sharp, and Dohme as a medical secretary. Among her many talents, she enjoyed landscaping and made their home look like a resort. As a young woman she was a gifted athlete and excelled at swimming and water skiing. She was a stay-at-home mother then helped her husband Dick operate a building business and Joanne did everything from drafting the blue prints to finish painting and all phases in between. She loved and cared for many animals. She enjoyed cheering on the Eagles and Phillies, and all types of sports. She loved her family dearly and cared for whoever needed her. She will be remembered for her loving nature and looking out for others. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and persevered through many challenges guided by her faith. More than anything else she loved spending time with her family, and her happy place was the Jersey Shore where we all made many memories which we will cherish forever.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah Bandura and her husband Stephen, Gwendolyn Damiani, and her husband Andrew; grandchildren Andrew Smith and his wife Kelly, Lauren Yanan and her husband John, Drew Damiani and his wife Stephanie, Luke and Anthony Damiani; great grandchildren Olivia, Brooke, Piper, Sophia, Madelynn, Emma, Anabelle, John III and Lucy; sister Bonnie Rosen and her husband Robert Rosen, Esq.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Deanna and her brother George.

A memorial service for Joanne will take place at 4:00 PM on Saturday May 14, 2022, at Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, where the family will greet guests from 3:00 – 3:45 PM. Interment will be private.
