Joanne H. Braxton, age 82, of Harleysville (formerly of Pennsburg), passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Whalen Braxton, with whom she shared over 28 years of marriage.

Born June 29, 1941, in Telford, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Edelman) Heimbach.

Joanne graduated from Temple University and began her career as a dental hygienist. She worked for many years for the dental office of Dr. Ralph McDevitt until her retirement. Joanne loved to spend time outdoors. She often could be found swimming at the local YMCA, gardening or walking her dog. During September and October, Joanne and Whalen would spend their time camping on the beach in their camper at North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She really enjoyed being at the beach, soaking in the sun and relaxing.

Joanne loved spending time with her grandchildren. She shared her love of gardening, camping, and spending time outdoors with them. She would often take them to her cabin at Pecks Pond in the Poconos or have them over for sleepovers at her house. She was always involved with them and helped her children and grandchildren as much as she could. She was a wonderful grandmother and mother!

Joanne's second favorite love besides her family, was her dog Jenny. Jenny and Joanne were inseparable. Jenny would go everywhere with her, and Joanne loved having her by her side. Jenny definitely had a happy life with Joanne.

Joanne is survived by her children Matthew Holliday and his wife Pattie, Amy Worthington and her husband Scott; grandchildren Nathan and Lauren Holliday, Brittany Peters and her husband Craig, Joey Worthington; great-grandchild Bryley Peters.

Joanne was predeceased by her sister Donna McGee.

Services for Joanne will be private.
