Joan C. (Anders) Roeder, 84, of Chalfont, PA, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 7, 2024, at home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Curtis Roeder, on August 22, 2016. They had been married for almost 56 years at the time of his passing. Formerly of Hatfield, PA, they resided with their daughter in Chalfont, PA, since 2011.

Born October 12, 1939, in Sellersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Russell and Laura (Kriebel) Anders. She was a graduate of North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA. She first worked helping her parents at their store, Russ's Market, on Main Street, Hatfield, PA, now the location of Casey's Saloon & Eatery. Joan later worked at Souderton Savings & Loan and then Harleysville Insurance Company. Lastly, she began employment in 1965 at Ford Aerospace where she remained until retirement in 1996.

Mrs. Roeder was a long-time active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hatfield, PA, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was president of Luther League. She also served on Church Council, the New Church Building Committee, Social Ministry, and as flower chairperson. She loved to travel, especially to Florida where she and her husband spent many winters over the years. She enjoyed socializing with friends from school and work, and her greatest joy was her family.

Surviving is her daughter, Kerrie Roeder Garges and her husband, Dan, of Chalfont, PA; seven grandchildren, Jamie Roeder, Cody Garges and his wife Joalyn, Dylan Garges and his wife Nancy, John Roeder Jr., Natan Roeder, Ashlie Roeder, and Alexis Roeder; two step grandchildren, Chris Garges and his wife Lauren, and Jeremy Garges and his wife Michelle; six great grandchildren, James, Taa'hir, Clara, Phoebe, Westley and Shea; and five step great grandchildren, Hope, Adilyn, Daniel, Autumn and Joshua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John William Roeder, on August 4, 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 am on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church, 40 North Main Street, Hatfield, PA, 19440, where family will begin receiving friends at 10 am. Interment will be private in Grace Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the church at the address above.
