Obituary

Janet (Bullard) McCarthy, 76, of Towamencin, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Jefferson Abington Hospital in Abington. She was the beloved wife of John A. McCarthy, to whom she had been married for 50 years.

Born October 7, 1948, in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Althea (Hollibaugh) Weyant.

Janet graduated from Goldey Beacom College in Delaware.  After graduation, she worked in office management for many years. Janet loved her pets, including Sabrina, the sheepdog, and Socks, the cat.  She was a big fan of the Phillies and Eagles, and attending a Phillies game made her very happy.  She was also a leader in her son David's scout troop.  Traveling was a joy for her, with trips to Bermuda, Ireland, Italy, Hawaii, Alaska, and the western states. Most of all, she loved being with family and friends. She will be missed by all, as we love her very much.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son David McCarthy of Lansdale, her sister Julia Suzanne Dickinson, her stepsister Sara Hollibaugh, and her stepbrother Stephen Weyant.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 AM on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike Telford, PA 18969, where friends may greet the family from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at https://givenow.lls.org/. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.WilliamsBergeyKoffel.com
