Obituary

Jane A. Youells, age 82, of Pennsburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, early Friday morning, April 25, 2025, at her residence. Jane was the wife of David W. Youells. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage on March 30, 2025.

Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Ralston W. and Eleanor (Cressman) Alderfer. Jane was a Graduate of North Penn High School, class of 1961. After graduation, she attended cosmetology school in Philadelphia. Her parents owned and operated Alderfer Foods, Lansdale, where Jane worked with her brothers. Her employment after marriage included Philco Ford and a ladies clothing manufacturer in Perkasie. The job she loved the most of all was driving school bus for Levy's Bus Service of Trumbauersville and North Penn School District, from where she retired in 2009. She had a natural love for children, which was obvious to her students, and they loved her and returned that love, in many ways.

Jane was a former member of Faith Baptist Church, now Faith Community Church, Sellersville and a present member of Calvary Church, Souderton, where she was a member for 22 years and an important part of Berachah Sunday School Class.

Jane loved to cook and prepare food for her family and friends. She inspired many people of all ages to learn how to cook for themselves. She cooked from her heart and taught others to do the same. Cooking was her God-given gift of hospitality. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed scrapbooking and playing games with family and friends. She loved all animals, and they loved her in return.

In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by four children: John Youells (Mary Ellen McKay), East Greenville, Lisa Depew, (Chris), Spinnerstown, Heather Carlin (Bill), Gilbertsville, and Carole Exley (Rev. Christopher), Royersford; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and twin brothers: Larry Alderfer (Lynn) and Barry Alderfer (Cherie).

Jane was preceded in death by her sister Elaine Vivo.
