Jacob Arthur "Art" Keener age 92, of Harleysville, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Jean Alderfer Keener and the late Arlene (Low) Keener.

Born December 12, 1933, on a farm in Manheim, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob L. and Adaline (Good) Keener. After marrying Arlene in 1953, Art was drafted in the Korean war serving 2 years at Norristown State Hospital. Art had a passion for the outdoors loving birds, the mountains, hunting for deer and gardening. He also had a knack for fixing things as an auto mechanic and maintenance manager in his work life of 50+ years.

In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by his children Patricia Ann Schrock of Prior Lake MN, Barbara Newsome of Perkasie PA, David Keener of Telford PA, Sheila Shoop of Telford PA, Gloria Keener of Red Hill PA; stepchildren Kevin Alderfer and his wife Teresa and Dwight Alderfer and his wife Rebecca; Sister Evelyn Good of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson Tyler Newsome and sister Elizabeth Gruber.

A memorial service for Art will take place at 11 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford PA 18969.

Interment will be private.
