Jacob L. "Jake" Clemmer, 81, of Pennsburg, PA, and Ruskin, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2026, while spending the winter at his Florida home. He was the beloved husband of Darlene (Alderfer) Clemmer; they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage in May.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Jacob M. and Martha (Lewis) Clemmer. Jake attended Souderton High School and Christopher Dock Mennonite High School. He served in 1-W Service from 1966 to 1968 in Denver, CO.
Jake began his career at Hatfield Quality Meats in 1965, holding various positions over the years before retiring in 2006 as Vice President of International and Industrial Sales.
He and his wife attended Franconia Mennonite Church and Ruskin Methodist Church. Jake previously served on the Dock Woods Community Board and was a member of the Boulder Valley Sportsman Club and Stoney Creek Hunting Club. An avid car enthusiast, he was also a member of the Mod-Tiques of Eastern Pennsylvania. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains at the ClemLand cabin for many years. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Lon Clemmer (Michelle) of Harleysville, PA; his daughter, Jennifer Gahman (Duane) of Green Lane, PA; his grandchildren, Lance Clemmer (Sarah), Levi Clemmer (Jen), Trey Clemmer (Lexi), Autumn Gahman, and Burgundy Gahman; his great-grandchildren, Bailey, Avery, Reagan, Wesley, Logan, Beau, Ezra, and Caleb; and his sisters, Mildred Bauman (David), Lorraine Zook, and Betty Ann Moyer (Earl).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Grant Zook.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969, where the family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be private. For those who are unable to attend the service it can be viewed via livestream by clicking HERE
