J. Rodney Landis, 76, of Franconia Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. He was the husband of Edith (Nofsinger) Landis, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Kathryn (Derstine) Landis. He was a 1965 graduate of Souderton High School, and a 1969 graduate of Bluffton University. He served in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971.

Rodney was a life-long member of Zion Mennonite Church, where he served on several committees including Spiritual Council, Church Board, Memorial Endowment Committee, Finance Committee, and Cemetery Committee, and volunteered with the Bean Bag Food Program.

He enjoyed following sporting events, traveling, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Landis of Harleysville, PA, and Daniel Landis (Tara) of Vandalia, OH; grandson, Ty Landis and granddaughter, Reese Landis, of Vandalia, OH; and three sisters, Kristine Kiskaddon of Chambersburg, PA, Mary Beth Jantzen (Jonathan) of Lacy, WA, and Margaret Devery (Daniel) of Perkasie, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Zion Mennonite Church, 149 Cherry Lane, Souderton, PA 18964. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Zion Mennonnite Church Memorial Endowment Fund at the address above.
